Four Elk Property Owners Association

The Four Elk Property Owners Association represents the owners in the Four Elk Camp subdivision northwest of Buena Vista, Colorado on the east side of the Continental Divide. The gated community has thirty-one lots situated on the side of Mount Columbia at an elevation between 8,700 and 9,000 feet. The higher lots to the west are forested, while the lower lots sit in the open with views of the Buffalo Peaks to the east and the Collegiate Peaks to the south and west. The San Isabel National Forest borders the subdivision on the north and the west. The Heckendorf State Wildlife Area is to the east and south. Four Elk Creek runs through the subdivision on its way down to the valley.

One lot is owned by the Association and has a large pond stocked with trout that is available to all property owners and their guests. There is also a shared trash facility on the lot that makes it convenient for all residents.

Every property owner is a member of the Four Elk Property Owners Association and agrees to abide by the published covenants. Three members are elected to serve on the Board of Directors and represent the others as they manage the subdivision. They arrange for road maintenance and plowing, general upkeep, and insuring that the covenants are being followed by all members. An Architectural Committee comprised of three other property owners review all requests for new building projects in the subdivision.

The annual dues are $450 payable by the first of the May. An Association meeting is held every summer to gather to get to know your neighbors and discuss current and proposed business.
