Hi everyone. This is just a reminder for those of you who have not paid your $300 dues yet this year. The deadline is coming up soon on Friday, May 1st.
You can now see first hand what the weather is like in our neighborhood! Monte Trumbull has installed a weather station on his roof that sends data to the Weather Underground network. He also installed an outdoor camera that points down the valley that sends pictures to the service as well. You can check it out at: Weather Underground. Click on “4 Elk Subdivision” below Buena Vista to be taken to the webcam.
Hi everyone. If you were in the neighborhood last night, you might have wondered what was going on up by the pond. The Chaffee County Fire department was using the pond for training and certification procedures for their crew. They had contacted Mike before they came up. The nice thing is that we know that our dry hydrant is working fine and all of the firefighters know our area now in case they ever have to come up!
The financial reports are now ready and posted on the website. You can view and download them from the Financial Statements page. We will not have printouts available at the meeting, so be sure to print them out and bring them along if you desire. As a reminder, if you will not be attending, please fill out a proxy statement and get it back to one of the board members before Saturday. See the previous post for details.

Hope to see you soon!
Don’t forget that the annual dues need to be paid by May 1st. For those of you that have already paid, thank you!
As promised, we have gotten around to this a little earlier this year so you can make plans to be here!

Mike recently attended a meeting where FEMA discussed best practices for building in wildfire areas. You can read or download the document here: Home Builder Guide to Construction in Wildfire Zones.
Thanks to all those that came out to help with our cleanup day last month! We concentrated on cleaning up around the pond and the Four Elk Creek drainage. A backhoe was rented and Mike and Lynn’s son Alan did the driving. The creek was rerouted around the decaying water feature at the pond and a lot of trees and bushes were removed to help with the flow. Here are some pics thanks to Heidi Dineen.

Thanks again everyone!
